This Airbnb stay hits it out of the park.
Fans will have the opportunity to book a one-night stay at the New York Mets‘ Citi Field Stadium for $250 — and it comes with VIP suite-views to two games, the opportunity to throw an opening pitch, Mets swag and unlimited snacks.
The lucky Mets’ fan, who can bring three friends to their Queens, N.Y. sleepover, will throw the ceremonial first pitch for the July 28 night game. Booking opens on July 8, first come — first serve, according to the Airbnb listing.
However, the promotion is actually in honor of “Bobby Bonilla Day,” a viral “holiday” that trends every year on July 1. Bonilla, 58, is the retired Mets player who opted to receive $1.19 million every July 1 until 2035 as part of a deal that let the Mets out of a $5.9 million payment to the beloved player in 1999.
“This year, I’m joining in on the fun, trying on a new glove as an Airbnb host and hopefully giving a few folks the night of their lives at Citi Field,” Bonilla hyped in a statement to The Post.
Guests can watch a Mets night game and day game from their VIP suite with limitless hotdogs and drinks. They also have access to the Mets gym and shower and will meet Mr. and Mrs. Met, according to the Airbnb listing.
On top of that, they’ll receive a customized Mets jersey and a used baseball signed by members of the team.
Photos show that the MLB VIP suite peeks inside the iconic Citi Field foyer called the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, and it offers views of the original Homerun Apple and Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
It is staged with a bed, baseball caps on display, a Mets-orange coffee table table and a tan sectional, photos show. Guests also have also have access to a room with seating and bars that overlooks the stadium.
“As a born and raised New Yorker and a longtime player in the city, there is a special place in my heart for Mets fans and it’s wonderful to see the faithful back in some green seats in Queens,” said Bonilla.
